We Bought a Farm!

Last year, we purchased 125 acres of rural farm land in Lavaca County, Texas with the idea of building a weekend/holiday getaway house. It will also be an opportunity for our kids (who live in the middle of a big city) to get out, get dirty, and explore the world. This space will be for documenting the process. I plan to start by posting a series of articles on acquiring the land, applying for (or maintaining) special tax status, and papering the transaction. Then I will move into how we found our builder and secured financing. That will pretty much catch us up to present day. From there I will provide periodic updates about the process and tips we learn along the way. I am excited to share this new adventure with the world!
